DICE change management calculator

The DICE calculator enables a risk assessment of any proposed major change programme using the well-regarded DICE model , originally developed by the Boston Consulting Group, based on research into more than 200 major change initiatives.

The free online calculator allows you to quickly place change programmes into 3 different categories of risk, by scoring just 4 attributes;

  • Project duration
  • Team integrity
  • Organisational commitment
  • Additional effort required

Stakeholder analysis tool

A stakeholder analysis tool, or a stakeholder map, is a very useful technique at the beginning of any major programme involving any kind of change. You will perform a stakeholder analysis on the key stakeholders who may be impacted by, or have an interest in the programme. The purpose of such an exercise is to help you identify;

  • Who you need to influence
  • In what way
  • In which priority

This free app supports the construction of these stakeholder maps.

Change leadership assessment

This app enables a quick assessment of change leadership skills, using any mobile phone, tablet, or device with internet access. It can be used in conjunction with group learning tools such as a business simulation, or as a stand-alone. Check out the app below.

Leadership collaborative skills diagnostic

Enables a quick collaboration skills assessment. It covers 12 collaborative skills, providing leaders with a greater scope of what it means to be an effective collaborator.

You can use this list to assess how effective you and your colleagues are at this vital management discipline.

Self-reflection cards for leaders

These leadership self-reflection cards or 'iCards', enable one of the most important aspects of any group learning session - self-reflection.

Most self-reflection exercises are undertaken at a few key stages in a session, such as at the end of a in-simulation round. iCards allow participants to go beyond these set reflection periods, and increase their potential learning effectiveness through these additional exercises.

Risk-cost-reward map

A very useful technique to assess and evaluate different courses of action, is to perform a risk-cost-reward analysis.

This is achieved by a simple 3x3 matrix of each possible option, with the XY axes showing the risks and costs associated with an option.

This free app supports the construction of shareable risk-cost-reward maps, and can be used alongside training simulations.

Risk analysis tool

A risk analysis tool, or risk map, is an incredibly useful tool to help you identify the potential risks that could hit any major project. Once you have identified the potential risks, you can classify each risk in terms of its impact on the programme (high, medium, or low) and its likelihood of happening (high, medium, or low).

You are then well placed to decide what mitigation is needed for each risk, starting with the highest priority.

Stress management app

This stress management self-diagnostic app, allows individuals to set stress tolerance levels, and monitor perceived stress levels on their phones during a group activity, such as a business simulation.

Leadership feedback app

The team leader check, allows a team lead to capture and consolidate feedback on their leadership from peers and team members across 7 key team leadership areas using a free, mobile app.

The leadership areas cover the management of individual team members and the management of the team as a whole.

Telsa assessment

The Telsa assessment, is a 12 point assessment for managers or leaders to assess themselves on areas covering their interaction with team members, non-tem members, and how they manage themselves.
